Not really. They have invested time into putting it in here. A problem with it will mean no one will use it, and I'm sure they have big plans for it. Like you said there are costs and they are going to want to get an RoI somewhere. I'm not sure whats going on, but I have heavily troubleshooted the issue and whatever it is it comes down to something on riots end with 8.6.
I posted my first post here over in another part where the Reds are actively discussing 8.6 because they aren't responding to tickets or forums. I figure if I reply to them on posts I'm being sneaky enough to force at least an acknowledgement on their part. In fact I thought this was that thread... But looks like 8.6 discussion got quiet when I went in over there.
Every computer is doing it. I've also tried on several friends computers now.
I've connected on 3 different Isps in 3 states at around 12 locations now.
My main account and smurfs all have this, as well as my wifes, and friends. Not to mention I have people in my clubs (across other states) quitting because its the same thing. Everything is fine, then frames will drop low and ping will skyrocket.
However as of last night, the ping has been higher than normal, but isn't unplayable, but the frames will go from 120 down to 4 and this laptop has 12gb of ram I believe (i'd have to double check) plus a graphics card for gaming and is decked out.. There is no reason for the frames to drop. I've yet to try another computer since last night (who would want to downgrade right?) but intend to give it a shot today because I could really use some league time other than just playing customs (i want to play some ranked).
I've tried forwarding ports in the router and etc, I play hardwired so no wifi.
As mentioned. Ive reinstalled several copies of windows on all the computers, did the hextech tool. Fully repaired the client, reinstalled the game.
Nothing is changing. Other games (with way more requirements and taking more resources than league) are operating just fine. Unless I've missed something (and I have bad ocd), I've tried everything.
Others reporting this issue aren't getting a response either. Their threads are either deleted, or going unanswered. Even on reddit, where I've been told to go. Which bothers me I shouldn't have to go to a third party website to get an answer from an employee to a problem for a game with its own community.
None of it makes any sense, and this is the first time I've seen riot go to this extreme to not answer an issue.
Hence the conspiracy. I'm going to assume its something big and they are being advised to not answer questions until they know. Its very common in damage control situations, but I've already had a few friends just outright quit the game to go play something else because its ridiculous.
I literally watched my ping raise to 140,000,000 and then got booted out. My internet works just fine. I've been playing smite all week and a few other games.
I came to look and see if there is a response. Im trying to be patient, but this was my last week to play league as I am moving this week and the new location doesn't have internet so I'm a little sad. I fucking love this game. (well it does, but its going to be at least a month because of repairs needed and I won't have that cash because of the cost of the move)
