Teemo's Blinding Dart (Q)

I think it would suit Teemo's play style and theme if his Blinding Dart worked the same as Quinn's Blinding Assault - having the Nearsight effect. Teemo's main problem is that he lacks a good escape and gap closing ability. His Move Quick is lackluster, unlike an instant gap closing ability. It's not good enough to dodge skillshots or to get in a fight. And his strength in his Q is that it allows him to fight against auto attacking champions only, but when it comes to skill(shot)-reliant champions, he doesn't stand a chance.

Teemo's auto attack range is quite short, which means he can't get close to a range enemy champions like Syndra, Xerath, Annie, without taking a skillshot/stun to the face. The only way Teemo could stand to fight a 1v1 against a range mage is if they step on a shroom and take damage before the fight or if Teemo builds tanky. Otherwise, he would be bursted the moment he enters their range. Imagine an enemy Syndra afflicted by Nearsight, Teemo would be able to get close to Syndra and not worry about her skillshots. It's the same with assassins like Zed, get in his range and you`re dead. But if Teemo can guarantee a blind he can get in, auto atk, get out. And let's face it, his shrooms cannot be actively used in a fight. Too predictable and situational, but if the enemy is blinded, it would allow for some play potential.

Anyway, I don't wanna write too long, but I really think the Nearsight effect would cover Teemo's main problem (sadly, bouncing shroom is fun and just fun) and make him viable not just in top lane but middle, against other mages/assassins, or even as a support.

It'd make his laning even more ridiculous than it currently is. You wouldn't be able to tell if he's committing to a fight until he's continually beating on you and you wouldn't be able to see if you're getting moved on by the enemy jungler.

He is only ridiculous in top lane against melee champions because of his range. Unlike assassins, he doesn't have the burst to immediately commit in a fight. He'd have to whittle your HP down, and when you're low you'd know when he will commit just like other champions. I think Teemo needs this because he also lacks a decent CC to keep the enemy in place. It would help coordinate ganks with his jungler. Most of the time, when his jungler comes to gank, he relies on jungler's CC to keep the enemy in place. Teemo's Q or shrooms are only used for damage, and even then his shrooms are very situational.

Let's be honest here.

Teemo needs more than just a Q change.

but that would make him stupidly useless against AA champs. hes meant to be a top laner. he needs buffs. but not this kind of buff. hes not a mid laner. people play him mid but hes a top laner. they just need to work on his shrooms more damage/period. there is no reason to have a near sight on teemo. that would be a huge nerf

Teemo would still be able to fight AA champions because of nearsight, but because it's not a blind he can't just stand there and take auto atks. The nearsight would grant his shrooms the element of surprise because the enemy won't see where Teemo plants them, so the enemy is more likely to step on them. It would also be twice as useful for escaping ganks/coordinating ganks than a blind. It would open up more play variety for Teemo in other lanes, not only in top.
