Given the current jungle could a 2-1-2 meta come back?

At least for the first couple levels? Outside of obviously starting with a buff and then heading to a lane?

I doubt this was Riots intention, but I tried playing Shyvanna last night and even though I ended with a decent KDA, I felt like the first few clears on the jungle where so difficult that I was essentially useless trying to keep up with the team in levels for the first 6-8 minutes of the game.

I think it's more likely a 1-1-1 jungle will show up, with two jungle/roamers. There are still just too many top laners who can win a 2v1.

Can't imagine that. ADCs solo with two enemy junglers would be free gold.

I didn't say double jungle was likely, I just said it's more likely than a no jungler meta.

Besides, ADCs go top lane all the time and do just fine.

lmao ADCs are lane bullies against melees. Try playing Darius against Lucian or Ezreal, you won't even touch them.

Probably not.

The current 1-1-2-Jungle meta is designed to maximize gold flow for the team as a whole, because you have 1 primary laner in every lane and a Jungler taking the Jungle, therefore utilizing every facet of gold flow possible. Not having a Jungle however stifles gold flow, as you are no longer utilizing the Jungler as a resource, and the 5th should-be-Jungler player is now either sharing gold with the top laner (which messes both of them) or is forced to go support.

Not to mention the objective control from Smite.

Won't happen, dragon control is too important and top laners won't want to share their income.

You could still run smite, I'm only talking about levels 2-4 more for the experience than the gold.

It is impossible to have a meaningful reply to your post, until you post exactly HOW you were trying to clear. My suspicion is that you are making bad choices in your route

But yeah, even with a good route you'llstill end up a little behind most times, unless you use a champ that either has excellent sustain, or can gank successfully, eraly. You basically MUST get a kill or assist, to keep up. Presuming you also want to get dragon. The zero-xp-for-dragon is what kills it, really.

A huge problem was my bot lane refused to help leash the Frog camp. It meant I had to use potions early. Even so I felt like my clear time was OK, but I was constantly behind the lanes and trying to gank for them was extremely difficult / very risky.

Try starting krugs instead. and use more armor or regen runes. btw what do you consider "okay" clear time?

maybe clear time was a poor choice... It was more like I had to decide do I clear a camp and keep up in levels or gold...or do I try and gank a lane because I wasn't able to do both.

When I play someone like Vi though I can effectively do both much earlier than I could with Shy.

If a 2-1-2 meta does emerge, I'm expecting it to get stomped quickly like it was in the Season 4 Preseason with the League of Relic Shield.

In other words, if you want to force a 2-1-2 meta in an attempt to get jungle buffs, by all means go ahead and do it.
