Ekko VS Singed?

Since I joined this game i've been a pretty die hard singed fan, I play a wide array of top champions (including leona, so legit) but when i really want to stomp I pick singed. I was actually pretty happy to see him featured in ekkos teaser trailer even though hes gets rekt.

So. when ekko is released I know ill be getting matched against him in a whole lot of games, so im going to be picking singed with the augmented skin on and doing a little, shall we say, reenactment. hopefully with better results for singed.

So i wanted to ask the community, based on each champions kits what kind of matchup do you think it would be? how do the champions kits work against each other, and who has the upper hand from the start? chrono break seems like an ability that can be massively disrupted by fling, preventing ekko from positioning his little time-shadow how he wants.

thoughts?

That wasn't actually Singed in the video. Notice how the guy didn't have a shield.

who needs a shield when you got a fat cyborg hand to club things

Was confirmed to not be Augmented Singed/Urgot. As for the matchup, i think it will be an ok one. Ekko has his Q poke which is annoying but is otherwise melee(despite that, his damage is magical, bad for singed). His shield is only up for a short time, making him weak to Singed poison, but early game, I think that he will still have an easy time. Later on, in catch comp+Singed, it will be easy(assuming you don't let him change the direction of the chase) to hunt him down and fling him into his death. However, you simply cannot let him reach your team because he functions as an assassin and his ult has a good 500 or so magic damage on it. Basically, if you don't fuck up as Singed, you have to fight to make him irrelevant. I think you are better off with with other champions if he is top lane.

In terms of laning phase -

I can't tell how much Ekko is going to be reliant on his spells versus his AAs. He pokes with his Q and his passive can be proc'd on spells but his dash encourages using auto's as well. And since he's melee range (aside from using his dash), Singed generally does well against melee champs who have to chase him to deal damage. However since Ekko can still harass pretty easily with his Q I think Singed will generally be at a disadvantage, depending on how quickly Ekko's mana dries up.

This will get worse as they get near 6; while Singed shines in kiting melee champs, HE also has to get close to fling or lay poison effectively. So if he goes in to fling Ekko he can drop his AoE stun/shield/thing in response.

So I think Singed won't stomp the lane but I don't think he'll get rolled either. As long as he can continue to farm up and soak the poke he'll be fine. And once team fights start getting involved, his slow and flings should help pin Ekko down a bit. The less Ekko can move, the less distance he'll gain by using his Ult so he might not be able to escape very well with it.
