Priority Moves?

Riot, I was wondering if you could bring some clarity to something. Recently, I have noticed some abilities have priorities over others that probably should not.

Example: One time I was playing Thresh mid team fight. We were dealing damage to an enemy Shyvana and she decided to "R" out towards her fountain in attempt to escape. I "E"'d her backwards while she was ulting and she didn't go the distance of her ult and simply turned into a dragon in her original spot and did no damage.

It may just be my opinion, but, Shyvana's ult shouldn't be able to be stopped by my "E". It doesn't seem fair really that an ult with a clearly longer cooldown can be stopped with a basic ability. Shouldn't the CC at least go on a stack and proc after she completes her path?

I guess all I'm trying to say is I think some abilities should have priorities over others. Are there plans to add these or at least make these specific priorities known officially? Sion and Olaf can't be CC'd in their ults, why can't Shyvana receive that benefit during her shorter lasting dragon flight?

Love, Peter Cottontail

Sounds more like a thread about shyvana buffs. This is working as intended, i think grabbing an enemy out of mid air or while they're grabbing a thresh lantern should be rewarded. How lame would it be if thresh couldnt flay jarvan away from a carry or if spellshielding a jinx ult still killed you due to "CD fairness"

I understand what you're saying, but shouldn't an ult like that at least go the distance? People like Ezreal get CC'd after their dash.

Ezreal is a special case. The instant he hits his e he is already effectively at his target location, his animation just hasn't caught up yet. Like how a lux lazer will for sure go off no matter what once started even if cc'd because its an animation not a channel that can be interrupted.

ezreal's "dash" is a blink and travels instantaneously, whereas shyvanas ult is a dash that has travel time. The reason ezreals gets hit by the cc after is because of the slight cast time before the ability finishes, because of this cast time ezreal's e would be too weak to cc if it could be interupted so easily. Shyvana however is a dangerous front line tank with AoE and a gap closer, it makes sense that her dash would be stoppable. Sion's ult is slow moving and very weak used close range, and olaf's ultimate makes him immune to cc for its short duration, however olaf himself has no gap closer other than the slow on his skillshot q, without it sticking to people would be near impossible in team fights. The skills are working as intended, and play very different roles, shyvana's ult would have to much power of she couldn't be cc'd while using it, because it does a fair amount of damage and positions her over the front line and next to the adc's without blocking it otherwise. The only change i see being viable would be making it cc immune but stopping on the first champion hit. Which would in turn end up making it WEAKER if more consistent.

Unless otherwise specified (such as malphite, hecarim, sion ults) any gapclosing dash can be halted or interrupted if you're hit during the movement.
