Low MMR

Recently i climbed from Bronze 5 to Bronze 3 with a duo queue partner who is is in Silver 5. I noticed that my Lp gain is only 13 per win, i won a ton of consecutive games and I am not sure why this would cause my MMR to go down. Op.gg says its becuase of the quo queue but I don't understand how that works.

one of the biggest problems is that its deciding that based off the fact that so many champions you have played have 6-7 deaths per game 1-2.0 kda may not sound to bad to you, but to the game it thinks that you have been getting lucky. You have decent kda on graves I don't know how that will last I just came from bronze 4- silver here the other day.

doing duo q inflates the mmr of your team so the lp you gain reflects the opposite your actually playing with bronze 5 players and not people of your own mmr so when you lose a game against bronze 5 it severely harms your mmr If you look at the people your playing against you'll notice almost all that you've played are bronze 5.

If you continue playing graves and dodge a few games you don't feel you want to play you'll get out of that; although bad it won't hurt your mmr

it's really important though because if you get a tripple q of players with .2 kda per game with 10 deaths each game then figure your team will most likely be down atleast 9000 gold and unless you know you can make that up then it's best to dodge

p.s this thread should be in general discussion. but I hope i helped solve your problem

wait, MMR is based on death count? or LP gain?

So to climb faster, I'll just have to like not die at all, regardless of win or loss? Win/loss < death count when it comes to MMR/LP gain? plz where can I read more about this flawed shit?

Your score means nothing in regards to the LP received. That being said, you buddies higher mmr along with the bump up from being a duo is raising your teams average mmr significantly and point distribution is an approximation of how superior the enemy team's average mmr was + 20 if win and -20 if loss.

Silver 5 can also be anywhere in bronze MMR as well, so he could even have lower MMR than you do. When you duo with people with lower MMR it seems like it doesn't give you as much LP for winning and you lose more for losing. Or it could have just so happened to match you up against teams that had lower MMR than your team, which also doesn't give you as much for winning.
