Ranked 5s?

Why were Ranked 5s removed from the game? This was the only reasonable way to rank up with friends, yeah it might be difficult to all get together and play but there is no point of being a "team" anymore. Nobody wants to play ranked 3s, but for some reason that is still there.

Would love an explanation.
