First item for Draven

So I generally think I'm a pretty good Draven. My first main item after boots is usually BT, and I usually destroy botlane. So this one game I managed not to do so well and so all my teammates got mad at me for getting BT as first item instead of IE, to the point where this one player (who claims to be a good player but is not as good as running his mouth (his scores were horrible) ) completely thought BT was the stupidest item to rush first. Are they right? Should IE be first priority item for Draven? I personally do not think so because of the sustain that BT provides Draven. For example, if I were to be very low in HP, I could easily be back to full health in merely seconds by just throwing a few Q's. It is also consistent in damage, and scales well with Draven's skills . IE on the other hand would also provide great damage, but however, luck in critical strikes play a large role in it. So which item would be recommend to rush first after boots, IE or BT?

Both are valid choices. Draven can outduel anything with a BT, so it can be great to have if someone is scary on their team. Also, finish your item before finishing your boots most of the time.

I vote sustain + damage. Everyone and their brother is going to say "ZOMG build IE first or you noob!" because that's the current favorite and people only know how to do what "the pros" are doing. You gotta find your own build path.

I start with brawler's gloves and build into Avarice blade. Now I have increased gold income to build everything else faster.

I'd get raged at even when I'm doing well. Sometimes you listen to the advice of your team. Other times you just gotta ignore them and do what you think is best.

What works for you might not work for them. What works for me might not work for you.

on a serious note, Draven's Q damage scales with crit so while BT first makes him a strong duelist it means he's going to do a lot less damage over time and have a lot less burst damage.

If you're up against an assassin with enough burst to kill you through the BT shield, you'll wish you had the IE instead because a huge crit may have saved you. If you're fighting a 3v3 or 5v5 your team will really wish you had that IE so that they didn't have to tank as much damage for you while you chipped away at the enemy team without any crits. Also consider that in midgame duels you'll often be up against an ignite which almost completely removes the value behind having that bloodthirster.

I think it's more situational. If the enemy is stacking armor you should go item 3072 into item 3035 especially when you are behind.

If you are crushing your enemy than I would go item 3031. You can just snowbal harder with it.

I wouldn't go the item 3093 rush. Draven is a champion that snowballs out kills. You won't bring more to the table if you delay your power spike.

I notice that most main draven players start item 3031 & when they struggle they build item 3134. I also noticed they rarely build 2x item 1055.
