Unfair Champs Right Now (Top Laners Specifically)

I love this game. I've played it for 2 years and had a great time. But as of late I feel like certain champs are getting to the point where they just start off with an unfair advantage in term of damage to health. I know it is a "bruiser" meta and I'm simply stating an observation. But if you aren't playing a counter and our opponent has a brain. Darius and Garen are ridiculously overpowered right now. I have played against both recently and laning against a garen leaves very little or no option for counter play and the same goes for Darius. I like to try and "break the meta" and play champs that really aren't the "good champs right now. And playing against these champs makes it impossible to do so. Well maybe not impossible, but improbable. I just want to know everyone's opinions on this. Because for me this is taking away from my experience of the game.
