It's where you pay/get paid to get someone to a higher rank in league or on any other game that has a ranked system, people can also pay for mastery ranks etc.

Elo is a ranking system. League uses something similar called Match Making Rating (MMR). In ranked this has a nice overlay with Bronze, Silver, Gold, etc.

yes, aftyer u hit lvl 30 u can play ranked games , the ranks are (from lower to higher one) bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond, master and chalenger, those ranks have divisions (again from lower to higher one) 5, 4, 3 , 2 anbd 1.

elo boost is when u pay someone to get u to rank u dont belong.

if someone play on ur account its bannable, if u pay to play in ur account it will probaly be banned, thou theres a legal elo boost too, u can pay hig elo players to play with u, for example my cousin gone from bronze 3 to diamond 4, as he was the one playing on hes account he cant get any punishment for it at all, cause he was"playing with firends" which is what dinamic queue is designed for, to "play with friends".

I don't get why people pay for boosting, that is just throwing money and you get flamed 'till you drop in divisions to the animal zoo where you belong
