Placements Are Unfair

How does someone who was in Bronze I go all the way to the bottom of Bronze V after going 5/5 in placements. That makes ZERO sense. I should be in Bronze III, that's half way down. You have just taken my entire summer and fall and thrown it out the window. Thank you so much for doing a terrible job at running this aspect of the game.

Oh, and the new queue system is horrible. Why would you give us an option to pick lanes/positions and then randomly put us somewhere else. Again, this makes ZERO sense. If you want to give people a faster queue system then make another option for that. Fast queue = no position request. Position queue = we get one of our two selections.

I don't know who is making these decisions but you all need to start doing a better job. These decisions and systems are not balanced or correct.

Thank You, Disgruntled Player maelStrom

Go take an operations research class and you might understand... It doesn't make any sense because apparently you aren't smart enough to understand it.

Stop playing the game to earn a rank. Play to enjoy it, and to get better. Then the rank will come.

Everyone is usually thrown roughly a full tier down from the previous season, which is to ensure your accomplishments for a given season are actually for that season. They intentionally want to test peoples abilities to adapt to the changes from season to season, so that being a high rank in a given season means you were actually good and adapted to that season, not that you utterly failed to adapt but had a high enough rating from the previous season that you were able to avoid decay/demotion. If you adapt, returning to your old rank is generally pretty smooth, and then you can push yourself to further heights.

(Also placement matches are not "What % of my old rank should I keep?", they're just matches where your mmr is extra sensitive, and it's your final mmr that determines your rank, not necessarily your W/L record although they tend to be related.)

You are probably not at the bottom of bronze 5. Bronze 5 is very deep, with the bottom of it seemingly filled with people who don't understand anything, including the fundamental controls of the game. You are actually probably towards the top of bronze 5, although you'll have to play some games to see what your LP gains/losses are like to have a better idea. In my experience I usually finish placements and find I'm getting like 25 LP for wins and losing 15, so climbing tends to be pretty quick out of placements anyway.

I got placed p4 and got 22 for a win, and then suddenly 12, 13, and 15. I won 7 in a row just to get to series and I know my mmr isnt that low. No way I went from 22 LP to 12 LP in 3 games. games just broken atm.
