Things wrong with Pyke. Some which have nothing to do with him:

  1. There is basically no AD support itemization. You have item 3308 and item 3304 (Tank and fits all. Still love relic shield but honestly still a tank item). You also have 'support' items that Pyke uses like item 3147 and item 3142. You have other items you 'could' use like 'The Black Cleaver' and 'item 3091'. I suggested a while ago you make an AD support. Okay, so... Where is the itemization?

  2. Damage is too high in this meta. Riot, you were TOLD this multiple times via forums.

  3. You decided in a damage is too high meta that it was a great idea to allow Pyke to not build some non-converted HP. Add this with his E or W for aggressive stuns, and you got a problem. Be prepared to be one-shot a lot.

  4. His Q is basically saying "Hey idiot, just stare at me while I am charging my hook. Don't hide behind that minions even though you have the time. Don't realize I have no way of building HP after I hook you."

Next one is a problem in a different way:

  1. You decided to nerf minion gold. Now he gives gold via relic shield and ultimate. Great. Now, can we actually make it so supports can't zone your ADC, damage your ADC, or peel your ADC so hard out of minion gold by GIVING IT BACK TO ALL MINIONS?

I heard that item 3310 would have adaptive damage instead of AP. Still wonder why they haven't already.

One point that should be added here is that he does convert health to AD. So, yes there are a lack of items for him (tank or AD) - goodbye banner minion - but I've noted that there are some things we can get for him while waiting for Riot to invent the items.

  1. Deadman's Plate - surprisingly helpful
  2. Black Cleaver - read the stats (cooldown, movement speed, armor reduction)
  3. Coin - not Targons! Movement speed plus health (which converts into damage) plus mana plus more $$
  4. Maw - maybe not the best for MR but it works. Could consider ZZ Rot I suppose too.
  5. Mercurial Scimitar - consider it
  6. Guardian Angel - kind of a no brainer.
  7. Zeke's - if you have no health then you need a support item with armor and MR (again, we miss you banner)

Incidentally, if Riot is cautious and thoughtful, the AD support items could bring others into botlane (Pantheon, Lee SIn, etc. as supports)

Someone is salty. For the record, you don't have to use expressly utility items to support. There are MANY types of support styles, such as poke, lockdown, and of course utility.

Pyke is admittedly very easy to zone off from that cannon with poke due to low health. Buuut, he also regens like a beast. So as long as you don't eat a full leona combo with a Draven hammering on you, you should be fine eating that poke.

  1. He's not an effective support.

  2. Pyke's damage is actually pretty low but reliable.

  3. I'm sorry but he does fine even in high damage meta when played right.

  4. The key is to only use his Q from an inescapable vantage point. Aka...... use W to position.

I do fine with him building defense... well, as long as the enemy team doesn't have too much true damage.
