URF Sona is the REAL Bard
I used to play a lot of the bard class back in Everquest (yea, I'm that old). They were one of the fastest characters in the game, but the thing that made them unique was their songs. Each song had an aura (I guess like old Sona used to) that lasted a few seconds after it was stopped - just long enough, actually, for the bard to quickly cast (or "Twist", as it was called) up to 2 more songs in rotation. Therefore, the bard had to place himself in an advantageous spot in combat while rapid-casting 3 spells in sequence, over and over and over. This would give 3 beneficial buffs to everyone around him while he kept it up. Out of combat, he could just chill with one or so...
Playing Sona on URF yesterday made me feel like I was a real bard. I cast all 3 of my spells in rotation, and had a BLAST. Yes, I own Bard, and while he is somewhat interesting, his name irks me for obvious reasons. Man, I'd love a "real" bard character that somewhat facerolled, I guess...but would have to keep casting repeatedly to keep up the benefit for his team members.
Anyway, just reminiscing. And no, I didnt play Sona too much before her rework...so dont know much about it. I was just coming into the game last year, and had a very shallow character pool by that time.
