Walking Through Allied Champions

Hi, just curiosity.

I have always wondered why it is that we could walk through allied champions, is there a reason for that? I totally understand why you can't walk through minions, but why can you walk through allied champions?

You can't unless it's specifically the passive of a champion.

Are you sure? Because I remember playing Hecarim and I could just walk though an allied champ or just stand in the same spot they are. Maybe it was just some sort of bug.

Considering I've been killed by it on several occasions or have been annoyed having a slower champion in front of me while I go back to lane yes I'm 100% sure in fact it would be far too op as tanks would just occupy a squishy's place so that you can't click on them.

Hecarim used to passively ignore unit collision. He still does during his E.

Oh I didn't think unit collision would apply to champions, I thought it was just minions. It makes sense, Thank you!
