Genuinely Beginning to Wonder

So let me preface this post by making it clear I'm not simply whining about a losing streak or being "that guy" that's always blaming my trash teammates for holding me back from climbing. I certainly am not a God at League and have a ton of stuff to learn. However, I've always heard that Riot has a way of ensuring that the majority of players remain at a around a 50% win rate in ranked, and I've never really given it too much merit until as of late I feel like I'm being pranked by Riot. I started this season placed in Silver 1, and climbed relatively quickly to G3, where I have been smacked by consistent 3-4 losses, followed by a win MAYBE two, before going quickly back to losing 3 or 4. In these losses as of late, they have been COLOSSAL defeats, I'm talking over in the first 6 minutes kind of losses, like my teammates have simply been outclassed by our opponents, and I'm really just looking for someone who might have ACTUAL knowledge of matchmaking and if this "keeps us at 50%" ideal has any truth? Does the game recognize players are "progressing well" and take steps to make losses more likely to occur? If so I must say that's extremely disappointing, kinda makes the climb seem even more bleak than it already does at times :(

The system doesn't arbitrarily keep you at 50% winrate. But it IS designed so that you will be at 50% winrate when you reach your actual level. If you are having a 50% WR at gold 3, you probably play at a gold 3 level. It just feels like you've been smacked with a nasty matchmaking quirk because you climbed quickly to your actual skill level, so it was a sudden change to actually play against people who are equally matched to you.
