Brainstorm about giving credit to Supports and other valuable players

"Shared" Kills

The concept is easy, Assists are designed for this very factor and are the tool to give income to whoever contributed to the takedown. I believe that this feature should be also graphically applied to the kill banners.

The visuals of the Shared Kill should display the killer, the highest damage dealt and who hard (soft too?) CCed the slew enemy with different portraits bords colors in order to easily differentiate that, to this we can add that the thing will last a bit in a corner of the screen with the addition of a small mouseover text telling us who did what.

Size and placements of said portraits is all up to who knows better than me how o program things and which is most visually efficent.

or you could just say

"thanks support"

in your games

I always do.

This was not intended to be a replacement to good behavior but just to give Supports and others some visual candy and recognition for their work. Similar things are the "cards" you get after the game ends in some other team games.

As a support main, it is greatly appreciated.

What we have now is the most visually efficient. The person who secured the kill gets the largest recognition, with smaller banners alongside for anybody else who contributed. The banner is only up for a couple seconds, so trying to put any more information on it just becomes pointless clutter.

unnecessary.

the 5 gray icons of the enemy team is credit enough.

I am sorry but that won't do anything. Everybody checks only damage dealt and don't care about anything else.

I play Soraka regularly. When I check my "healing done" it is regularly between 43k - 53k HP healed during the game. Nobody ever acknowledged that in 4 years of me playing League. I never heared anything like "wow dude you healed 50k HP, wp, that helped us to won the game". Most of the time they don't even acknowledge that the only reason for them surviving 1v2 and getting double was my ult or "clutch" flash+heal.

To make things clear - I don't need that acknowledgement. Won game and LP are enough of a reward. But this illustrates why nobody cares about supports. They doesn't do damage. Therefore they are boring, stupid and "useless" for majority of players.

Their job is most of the time invisible and as I keep repeating every time > support is the only class in an objective-based game... that can't take objectives. These are 2 issues that Riot should address if they want to make people to play supports.

We don't need fancy borders, stupid statistics or some retarded instant glorification. Just let us be impactful. :-/

Haha so true. I play a lot of Karma support and I always snicker to myself when some yahoo thinks he won all his fights solo, it had nothing to do with the shielding/healing/CC and exhaust I used 🤡
