Gangplank Gangplank . This guy is possibly in for a rework, but as far as i know there is no date in sight yet.

TL;DR --- Gangplanks "E Active" should apply to teammates in a large vicinity of where the ult is placed.

Aside from that, i want to talk about his Ultimate. I feel like a buff that will give GP a lot more pressure during team-fights, or global engages would be for his ult to apply his Raise Morale ( His E ). I'm saying this because i think it would give him a lot more pressure right now, and make him much more useful during fights.

I also say this because of the idea of his E Active: he sounds his gun and the buff applies to people near him that hear that gun-shot - Similarly i think that if his Ult ( Cannons / "Guns" ) are global, anyone around his ultimate, in a large vicinity should have his E active buff applied for the duration.

Does anyone else think this would help GP a little bit more, and make him a more played / picked champion since this buff could give him a lot more lane pressure and team fight presence. Right now, in my opinion, his ultimate is very lack luster which is why i'm throwing this suggestion out there.

Riot already said when his rework comes, his current E is most likely going to be scrapped completely for something more useful other then a small speed boost. Thats really the only hint they have given for the eventual GP rework.

He is confirmed to be on the short list for a rework. His latest Ult change (random damage to small areas buffed to damage in the full Ult area) is a patch to hold over til his full kit is ready for testing.

I hate Gangplank's E, except for the passive movement speed buff (since it allows me to skip boots), so I'd rather have it changed by the rework, possibly with hard CC (I suggested it to apply Fear on all enemies in range affected by his passive in a previous post). I agree that his ult feels a little underwhelming but hey, it's freakin' global, it deserves to be somehow... shitty u_u One change I'd make is the following:

  • Keep it global;
  • Split it's range in three bands, zones, marked by range (one zone that covers from one side-lane to half the river; one zone that reaches the lower part of midlane from the toplane; the last zone to infinity and beyond)
  • The first zone has cannonballs wave each .75 sec; the second has 1.0 sec waves; the third has 1.5 sec waves.
  • Buff the late game slow effectiveness (like 25 / 30 / 35 % scaling)

This would both give his ult some form of counterplay ("If I'm far from GP I've got less to fear") and lane power ("If I stand in this mess a second more I'm gettin' buried in cannon balls") for superior 1v1 damage. GP is quite strong early game but gets outscaled at level 6 because of his weaker ult and this might be a nice form of help. Plus, having a scarier slow late game can help his identity of toplaner, providing a stronger initiation.
