Does stun interrupt skill animation?

I recently played a game as Nami. As you all know, Nami's q is a bubble that stuns. During one teamfight, I stunned a Thresh during his Q animation. He was up in the air when he hooked my adc. item 3070 item 3070 I thought it would cancel but I would like explanation as to why it didn't cancel/interrupt.

Here's another link of the gif of said teamfight in case you couldn't see it... https://gyazo.com/b87df4e82e73bc3c6aa752663e002abf

The only ways to stop a cast are killing the caster or by having the caster's target become untargetable (to that caster). Projectiles and their effects at least almost always continue even if the caster dies.

Ive seen this before, stuns and similar do not interrupt special animations like Thresh Q because they have a two-part function.

CC doesn't cancel animations, but it can stop channels. Thresh's hook has a long animation, but is not a channel, thus you can't cancel him from throwing it once the animation starts. Lux and Ezreal ults are similar, in that they're just long animations. The only way to stop them is to kill them before the animation finishes.

It's the same reason things like Ezreal and Tristana can appear to blink/jump despite CC landing on them. As long as they start the animation before the CC hits, the animation, including the displacement, will complete. They'll still take the remainder of the stun duration after they reach their target destination, though.

What the crap am I watching? A replay, recorded to video on a phone, pushed back to the computer, and played back with some sort of GIF capturing software? Just use the replay's Record feature then upload it to YouTube and be done with it!
