Honestly you scumbags deserve it for smurfing in the first place.

Lol - but youre missing the point, now we are in the elo where we can wreck people and its unfair. Would you not rather our smurfs get placed higher where we belong?

Well, IIRC it's not entirely based on win/lose this year, it balances last years elo against some arbitrary number, then factors in your win/loss. and I think fresh accounts are just set at that arbitrary number.

It IS weird, however, that two fresh accounts would get sorted into different divisions entirely if they played all 10 games together. :/ I did all 10 with my league buddy who I usually duo with and he got silver 2 and I got silver 5, but I just thought that was because I did my prelims last season and he didn't.

As far as the differing placements it would almost have to be based on MMR, which to my knowledge is not known how to calculate it, but it does not entirely base off W/L so it is possible you had a higher MMR than your friend even though you played together all 10 games, factoring in you playing better in certain games having better stats all that cool shit that we don't know about

I don't know the main reason but my guess is your normals could have effected the result. If one of the accounts was better at normals before doing ranked, even though you get the same w/l , you might have placed in different divisions. It would be a great experiment to go w/ a friend and level up to 30 from 1 only and only playing w/ him. So you will have the same w/l ratio. It would really be very interesting but probably very time consuming experiment.
