How to counter assasins in the mid lane: Nautalius Mid

I have been playing all weekend and had fairly good results with it. His shield allows him to trade without taking any damage and after a couple of trades like this you can force almost anyone off their cs and make them farm under tower. freeing you up to roam and help other lanes. The main goal of naut mid is to use your utility to help your team so build some tankyness so you can last longer than a second in a team fight.

This is the build path that has been working best for me:

If playing against a I would recommend going for an armour item first. If you see a you should go first so if he gets close you auto pop that shield.

who this does not work well against: and (well more annoying then bad as she does not have much counter play to allow you to engage against her. If she lets you lock her down though she is dead)

tanks are generally good picks into assassins mid, something like cho or galio or malphite or sion, problem is they will just push an roam to go kill squishy targets.

i played against a naut mid, i just shoved wave and walked down and me and jungler camped him cause he can't really go out once he goes in, hes a good champ but that is a somewhat fatal flaw

Another suggestion: Morgana mid.

Aery, Manaflow, Celerity/transcendence, scorch/gathering storm. I typically go into Resolve secondary, but you can choose whatever makes sense.

Ring+Pots>RoA>Rylai's>Liandry's. First back should always get you Catalyst. I suggest going W>Q>E, putting 4 points in W total, maxing Q, then maxing E last. W is for farming (When you hit rank 3 with W, a single W can clear casters, but later on it won't be enough damage, so I go to 4, then max Q). Q fucks assassins over big-time, and makes it impossible for them to dive you. E is generally kinda useless against assassins, because they usually have no notable CC.

First back for Catalyst. Second should get you RoA. Exhaust or Teleport are good secondary spells. You shouldn't need ignite, nor should you really get to use it much. You play super passively in lane, and basically never need to interact with them. Just make sure to roam after them so they don't fuck your botlane over. RoA makes it hard for them to burst you, as well.

Naut wouldn't be the best since I could take him out with ignite mid as talon. Now sion, fck that guy
