I won 9 out of 10 placements.... was placed in silver 4 was gold 1 last season what is this, riot seriously. That's pretty beat riot, back to not playing anymore.

yeah, because in every other game/sports/anything "new season" means you will start from the same spot you were last year.
I'm only throwing a comment in here to just say I do slightly agree that the placement system is a little flawed. I only started playing LoL last September but when I got place for last season I was placed silver 2. Needless to say everyone at that rank outclassed me and it was no longer fun to play so I had to wait for a new season. I was definitely not Silver 2 and I think its a little messed that the computer thought I was, Whereas my friend who's played for years was only silver 4 and he slaughters me. Didnt really make sense and I agree the system could use some work.
This is really old news and you'll probably get 30 LP per win and jump tiers if you win a decent amount.
Pretty sure if I checked the OP's Ranked Stats from last season, he/she would have a negative win rate.
you have to win your first 5 game otherwise you're screwed espcially the first one
I only won 3/7 and was in Gold 2 last season, got placed in Silver 5, but hey I'm almost back in Gold 3 so I'm not complaining T.T
