Is it normal to have hard times in match ups you don't know

I pick up Yasuo two weeks ago, since then I've been able to get mastery 6 but I'm often in a match that should be easy but I don't do as well as I should. Example Yasuo vs. Syndra I lost most of my fights with her. So is it normal to be bad at match ups you never played before.

No, it is fine. if you are unfamiliar with a match up, you may not know what you do better than the other person, ect. For example, I win almost every match up as Camille. Until I was put up against a Wukong, a champion that I never had to fight until that point. I went 0/12... Just goes to show you need practice!
