Sure once youre DONE with the build it gives you an additional 8% health damage which is really nothing on a squishy target who only has like 1200 HP vs some form of infinity edge , zeal combo.
It's a smoother build path that gives sustain, making it far more likely that you'll be able to outlast your opponent in lane, allowing you to then get lane control and force them into shitty backs, causing them to miss cs and the corresponding xp/gold. It's not for everyone in every situation of course, but in the right match ups people who are trying to save up for a BF sword could find themselves getting pressured out of lane.
The kiting potential from the bork active is also useful.
