Worked every time for me. Your problem is a failure to communicate, or just having a troll/idiot on the team. There is nothing wrong with the swap system at all, and there is zero reason to remove it.

The system itself isn't flawed, the morons who always fail at it are. Waste of time.

Then why remove a non-flawed system? Just because you have a few people that alt-tab away, or leave to go get something after they locked someone? If you picked a champion, why would you even want to swap them?

a better solution would be to prohibit the trade option unless you own all the champions, so at least you wouldnt have to deal with "damn, i thought i had jarvan sorry man, evelyn or warwick?"

There are 123 Champions in the game right now. I have a few hundred matches, and I don't even have 30 of those.

Then I guess we should ban counterpicking, lane swapping, positioning, contesting dragon, and hell let's remove Baron buff while we at it.

It's not like the game needs strategic depth in it anyway?

.

Sarcasm aside, it really is strategic. So many times I see first pick take an easily counterable mid or top laner... and it's really useful in tournaments or premades to prevent mid and top from getting hard countered.

At both your and my ELO, it isn't strategic. The LCS, sure maybe, but in solo queue at our ELO values, no.

How is it not? First pick takes Katarina, then gets hard counters vs first pick taking something like Vi or Sejuani, then switching with last or fourth pick.

It's only as strategic as people are willing to be. And keep in mind that you yourself are in your ELO, so you're kinda insulting yourself and I.
