New draft mode/champion select frustration

So far i can't exactly say that my experience with the new champion select has been positive. A game takes about 10 minutes to get into, given somebody doesn't leave or get kicked for inactivity. I recently queued for a game as yasuo with a group of friends. My yasuo pick was banned, which is fine. But as it came around to my turn to pick a champion i was scrolling through champions due to being unsure who to pick. I ended up selecting lulu. When the timer came down to the last second, i was kicked for inactivity seeing as i never locked in my champion. EVEN THOUGH I WAS SELECTING A CHAMPION THE WHOLE TIME. I understand kicking people for not SELECTING a champion, but being kicked for not locking in when i'm clearly actively scrolling through champions. That's a little crazy. Riot? Reaaaaaalllly? I know that i'll get used to that feature. But i think it's a bit silly.
