Run through OpenGL option

I know this could take a while, but could you make an option for the client to run in OpenGL? There are countless articles online on how OpenGL can get better performance DirectX, on Linux, Mac and even Windows. Also it would solve all the fps and performance problems for mac and linux, no one would have to wait in the loading screen for a good 5 minutes and almost everyone would be playing around 80+ fps. You guys should consider it, it would be quite an upgrade! Even if it was an unlock able feature (which would kinda suck) but I would still pay around 1000p for it.

First, they would never make you pay/unlock a feature like that. They would just change the client to use openGL. Also you are being a little optimistic if you think using openGL would allow EVERYONE to magically have 80+ fps. That is just not realistic.

They don't seem like the company that would do something like that, maybe i am a bit optimistic, but it is not wrong to say that performance would drop, google it and read the articles. I honestly hope a riot staff member will read this and hopefully explain how or why it can/can't be done
