Test for Lag, Please?

I'll keep it short, and sweet.

I lag fairly infrequently, so I'll usually jump straight into a ranked game when I get in from work. Over my 5-ish years of playing I've had countless losses to randomly having like 300 ms through an entire game with extra lag spikes peppered in for good measure.

I was thinking a ping indicator in the client may be nice so you can see what your connection to the servers are like before you queue. You're committing your next 30+ mins to the game when you're going to have a game - it would be nice to know it's not going be wasted.

I don't know if the current client would be able to facilitate this, but since a new client is going to be released soon, maybe it will have the capability? :)

omg yaaaas

why have they not added this? It's been suggested before, years before. So many times I have to create a custom game to test my lag, can't they make something better? If I don't test it myself, I jump into a game and my lag is too bad to play everyone else suffers and I have to afk trying to fix it, feed, or quit.

Until they add one in the client, you can ping the server manually.

Open command prompt type in "ping 104.160.131.1" no quotes Hit Enter It will ping the NA server 4 times Shows ping in milliseconds (ms) and provides an average

You can create an app on your desktop called a batch file which you can click to run it This makes it really easy to check whenever you want. Just google how to make a batch file I use this for my whole file, which will open and ping until I stop it with Ctrl+C

cd c:/windows/system32 ping 104.160.131.1 -t pause

Riot controls server traffic tightly, so some pings may not go through
