So I think we need to talk about promotion series real quick.

I personally feel like promotion series are not designed well enough, and I think this idea resonates with many players as well. I just finished a promotion series (which I lost so I may just be salty) and in the first game what did I get on my team? Unranked duo que. Let that simmer just for a few short seconds. I felt doomed from the outset, and to make matters worse the enemy team was kinda beefy as far as summoners go. The enemy jungler was a nidalee (the champions didn't really matter for me) with a decent history of that champion on her and a high win rate to boot. Same thing for the rest of the enemy team, lots of experience, high win rate, great personal stats overall. The game was a train wreck that I had to watch and actively be a part of as If I was given the controls at the last few moments with no options. I don't blame my team for being bad or anything, they were all new and had no idea how intricate this game can get if against competent opponents. There were other things wrong that happened that I won't divulge into for fear of sounding salty but it isn't that single game that gets me upset, it's all of my games across my time playing ranked. I've never had and afk In my promos but I have had trolls, feeders, inexperienced teammates and other horrors the likes of bronze are infamous for having. And after all the things I did have I was missing something most of the time, equal footing to the enemy. My team usually has nothing to lose, sitting on 30-80 LP not minding a loss and not wanting to win either and the enemy team is the same as mine, sitting in the middle of their rank not caring about a win or loss. When my team is feeling lazy, smack talk flows like butter through all chat (thank the gods for "/mute all" I use that thing nearly every game) about how bad we are getting destroyed by them and such and then we start playing worse. The criticism hits us and against my will the surrender vote goes 4-1 and that's promos gone. So what am I trying to get at here with all this complaining, I'm asking for promotion series to feel as important as RITO says it should feel. everyone should have something to lose and a lot to gain, I would love to see a "Promotion Que" so I can play without fear. you want to troll in champ select? Have fun sitting in the depths of elo hell after the game. It may be just a bad idea that would promote more toxicity due to the stakes being so damn high, but I don't know any other solution. Maybe a free dodge for promos might be nice, keep all those trolls away from me for a game or two, I'm not sure. I would love to see some more (Civil) discussion in the comments and maybe a red pop in for their input I dont know.

A separate promotional queue would be great, but I don't really know how viable it would be. I guess it would depend on exactly how many people are really playing promos at that time. Would they all have to be playing promos for the same league, division, etc?

I am going to give Riot game designer the benefit of the doubt here. Let us assume a reasonable chunk of the billions League of Legends has made was reinvested by hiring the best minds in the game industry. There must be a super smart reason promo players are not queued with other promo players only. If there really are 20+ millions players, then we know there is no lack of promo players at any time. Therefore, the best game industry minds in the world have a secret understanding we lesser minds cannot grasp.

Not quite what I expected when I read the title. Very reasonable logic though. If everyone has something on the line, it would make for that much better of a game. That said, can you imagine what the que times would be like? Especially as you get higher in ranked.

ive been told this is on purpose, that riot implemented it to "prove" you are good enough to move on to the next series.... that being said, i dont have any red postings or anything to show it.... so.... anecdotal evidence

good luck ur next promo...

Unranked duo que.

Had the exact same thing in my promos in Bronze back in April - three unranked contestants versus five silvers, me and a Silver V. Train Wreck also, lost my promos, but found the Freelo of Swain and climbed out of Bronze. I wish Promo queue existed, in lower elo's they could do it, higher elo's they can't - unless they made it a spectacle - "DIAMOND PROMO HOURS" where Diamond players that were up for promotion all queue'd at the same time. I'd actually like to see that, would make the matches more spectacle.

How can you have unranked players in a ranked promo game?
