I detest being forced to update to the new client.
I seriously hate that I was forced to update to this buggy, laggy, and entirely different client.

Its a complete fucking downgrade You dont even have the animation gauge when leveling a champion after a match ends. its so fucking laggy and slow. And god i hate that fucking sound when i enter champ select. Its like staying near a fucking train rolling with 200km/h going trough Railroad switches. But its riot after all , so yeah , lets fuck up everything
Riot continuing to put resources into the old client was delaying updates to the new one anyway.
Get over it.
TBH been playing since season 2 but I actually like the new client and been using it since I first got access to the alpha client back when you could literally only play aram, couldn't access the shot, etc. Even without knowing how outdated the AIR client is I would say this is an upgrade from the legacy client. I can finally have it in full screen, access my settings, etc. Don't get me wrong I'm gonna miss the old client but I do think it has lived its life and it is time for something new to take its place.
I would love it if it was smoothed out and ran a bit nicer and didn't feel like it was a whole different game until I actually started playing a match. I've been around off and on for quite some time (mostly off until season 3) and I really enjoyed how everything worked in the old client.
If you have a low-end machine, the new client literally laughs and taunts you to quit.
I wouldn't complain if the layout was somewhat similar and it was as easy to read, but I can't even tell what half of the masteries are at a glance any more with the mastery layout, and my client lagged so bad I almost didn't get to lock in my champion for a match.
Yeah, I hate it too. After every game the client goes into a super small size that makes it hard to read, and if I change the size back the graphics stretch off the screen. I pretty much have to restart it after each game. Its a glitchy piece of shit with missing features.
I'll get random fps drops all game long while the lying son of a gun client informs me that, no, I must be crazy as it claims I'm keeping a VERY steady 60 fps when I jump from running from inhibitor to T2 turret, pause/freeze for a while, then somehow I'm at T1 turret bush line.
I played a game today as Fizz and while we won and I had a respectable KDA (sorry, team, most of those kills were undeserved, input lag and all other manners of nonsense, I never landed more than exactly 2 ults out of over a dozen and my CS was GARBAGE (ending with 140-some), took stupid amounts of harass damage from lane opponent, Nasus, and had to let myself be carried all game long. If I had been playing any other champion, I bet I would have been too heavy.
At least I didn't try to brag or take credit for anything like a lot of people would. I don't feel proud of anything that went right in that game.
Also, I really hate the new look for the mastery changing you can do pre-game. It takes up too much space for no reason and EVERYTHING is so dark and dull-coloured.
Different != Bad
Same thing happened when the Dota2 Client was updated everyone raised hell but it was leagues better than the old one. Same thing with the league client.
There are some nice things (patch notes in the client, replays, practice mode), but the overall User Experience is pretty terrible. A lot of the layout doesn't make sense, several icons don't make sense (what does a cup mean as far as champion stats go? Why is Darius half way between Attack Speed and Ability Power, should he build both?), if you want to chat about charts after game you've got to go back and forth and back and forth...
Yes, it'll be good in the long term, but it's going to take probably another year to get to a polished state.
I really wish they would have made the new client more familiar and made changes slowly to give time to adjust... Instead I went from the nice simple familiar client to "OH GOD... What am I even looking at here?" that or making a legacy view for the new client that switches it to be more like the old one...
You have been able to download it for the past 5 months I think? You have had plenty of time to get used to its layout.
Why would I willingly change from my familiar client to something notoriously buggy and laggy?
And their is a lot of people who detest, not having 10 bans, because they had to still support the Legacy client.
But but but, its always a good idea to fix things that arent broken. That never went wrong for anyone...ever...weird they put all this effort into something that doesnt even do much for the game. The game is about what happens on the rift....not before or after...KappaPride
How good is the low spec mode? I never used it because I have no issues with the new client.
I use low spec mode and still ran into issues.
