Can we please get the old URF back?

I don't think that I'm the only one who misses URF. And I mean the old URF where you could pick your own champion.

URF used to make me want to drop everything and play it for an entire week, or weekend for that matter. I sat in school thinking about what I should try out for hours. The hype we had as a community was something very unique in this game. But that changed with all random.

Sure it fixed the problem with people only playing op champs. But it made it less fun and killed the hype. Riot told us that it was a game mode where they removed all the boring parts of the game (spending mana, waiting for cooldowns etc.) so they should try to make it as fun as possible. Don't get me wrong it's still fun. But it's not close to as glorious as it was.

So I beg Riot, please give us URF back. The old URF. The URF that unified a community for a week. The URF that made us absolutely lose our shit as we played our mains on steroids. Please give us the ability to chose our own champs and we'll somehow repay you with YouTube content, long nights of constant playing and amazing fan art.

urf should exist once a year at its normal time.

arurf should exist as a rotating game mode WHICH ACTUALLY GETS PUT INTO CIRCULATION.

This, in my opinion, would greatly help the issues of the people whining about repeated games with the same annoying champions. You'd get to ban champions like these: Blitzcrank Syndra Zed Fizz Sona Evelynn Shaco Cassiopeia Hecarim MonkeyKing

Sure, there are more than just those ones, but you get the point. Put the bans from 3 to 5 and not do ARURF where ARAM accounts run wild. Even so, make every champion free on ARURF so we don't get flooded with ARAM accounts...

However, then people will get tired of seeing those and ban some of them so the previously banned champs won't be banned, thus we end up with more champs being picked. Still solves the issue.

And that's still an argument that applies to rift draft mode but still isn't much of an issue anyway.

I found the urf "meta" stupid to see every game, but just because some champions are broken (ban or disable) doesn't mean other champions are completely unplayable. We have a top tier meta in every game mode and if the bans alone fix some of them, then expanding bans only fixes the issue enough to nearly fix the entire problem.

thing is, pretty much any champion that's not entirely auto-attack reliant can compete in urf

yeah, people picked the easier champs to play, but it's supposed to be mass chaos for fun! ^^

Zilean Vladimir Ziggs Teemo DrMundo Fiddlesticks and many more countered the crazy picks like fizz and zed and have always been fun to play

thing is, the only reason I can think of now other than a few select points that have been made in discussions...is that riot doesn't want to release urf again because there are several champs that would require re-balancing specifically for the mode

the new Gangplank for instance

he could be a powerhouse in the original urf because of how quickly he could farm gold, now...he could farm wave after wave in an instant and has more ranged power than before

Only five champions could mathematically reach permaban status because with ten bans people can double ban.

Regular URF lost a lot of its appeal for me the second time it came out. Same champions every game (Hec, Zed, Fizz, Eve, Sona, Nid, Ez, Ali, Blitz, Shaco) made it real stale very quickly for me. I liked ARURF better because there were actually more than a dozen champions being played,

Hell, you didn't even need the second showing of it, it was getting old the third week of the original release.

10 bans and small tweaks to the most popular URF champs that are game mode specific sound like good options to keep it fairer IMO. It's mean to be a stupid, spammy mode anyway :v

I quickly climbed to a high bracket in URF and had to endure the same 20ish champions every single game. I've never had more fun than in ARURF. I like both URF and ARAM and the combination of those is just the perfect gamemode for me.

I would really love it, though, if they could have URF in custom games with any champ select type (blind, draft, random) and in any map. I'd love to play some ARAMURF or 3v3 URF.

I liked trying out different champions in URF. That was the fun of it. Unfortunately, people like to take everything seriously and try-hard even in featured game modes so they spam OP champions. & of course, as usual, these boards don't know what they want so when URF comes back there will be 10 threads complaining about those OP champions. I enjoyed ARURF. I didn't have to see a Fizz, Zed or Lux every game.

"The URF that unified a community for a week." I call BS on that >.> There were threads on nothing but hate on URF Lux/Jax/etc.etc. when you could pick your champ. There would almost always be rage in my URF games when those champs were picked, which was always. There would be fighting over who would play who in the lobby. With AR URF on the other hand all you have to worry about is if you get a lucky draw and if the enemy has a smurf specifically for All Random modes.

Normal URF, you had people tell you to kill yourself for picking certain champs.

Now, you get told to kill yourself because "your account is a one-champ smUrf to abuse op picks".

People will find a way to rage anyways. At least make it less abysmal.

How about this: Instead of forcing us to play a specific champion, they rng ban 1/3 of all champions (this way every game has a different champion pool to begin with). After that, player continue with the normal ban phase (you can still ban what you dont like if it wasn't banned by the automated system). When all this is done, people can pick their desired champion (given it's not banned or picked).

It feels really bad when u get a champ like darius and cant do anything to their zed or kassadin and is probably the reason most people dont like all random urf. Also you have to queue up 2 or 3 times because people dodge when the get a bad champ

The problem with URF is that you end up seeing the same champions just about every game and they aren't fun to play against.

The problem with ARURF is that losing because of RNG sucks and if you want to lose to RNG, just play Hearthstone.

I feel that Riot should try Nemesis Urf. There aren't a whole lot of champions who are completely worthless in URF, so picking for the opponent should lead to more balanced games unless someone trolls.
