Why am I put into a lower priority queue when it was the game that prevented me from playing?

I am so frustrated with LOL. Recently I went through the usual routine of picking a champ and waiting for the game to begin. Only, it just sat there and went nowhere. I checked my internet connection and my computer and everything was fine. I had no choice but to reboot my computer. Every time I tried to get into the game I had started it froze. I then noticed a note from Riot that they were aware people were having trouble like this and that they were trying to fix it. Fine. But now I'm put into a lower priority queue because I am a "leaver". Give me a break! It wasn't even my fault and I'm being punished???
