Reporting People & What Happens To Them Idea!

How many times have you gotten in a game with a guy that verbally abuses you, or one that feeds just to piss your team off. I am pretty sure everyone that plays this game runs into this problem every day because I surely do. After the game is over I always report and state the reason why. After that that's it, you never hear of the guy again and you have no clue what happens to him and if he ever got a ban or mute. I think riot should make a choice to send you an email or a notification on your client explaining what has happened to this person. If people know that this person they reported has been banned more people would report and less would troll. Please leave your feedback in the comments down below! I always like to know how my ideas go with the community and how to help. Thanks!

In the comments one person by the name of Valkyrie Witch made a very nice option. As quoted by him "What I have in mind would be something along the lines of; The first time you log in each month, you get a notification like the Service Status notifications saying "At least one Report you recently initiated contributed to the disciplinary action of one or more players. Thank you for helping make the League community better, and remember that Reports are a last resort to solve issues between players."

My personal opinion this is the best route to take. Even that little notification saying that action has been taken will make people want to help to report people that deserve to be.

No game will ever tell you what disciplinary action was taken on a person (at least none that I'm aware of) due to privacy concerns, so directly telling you what happened to a certain person will never happen.

...but, I think an anonymous notification that a report you made resulted in some form of account restriction would be a good idea to alleviate people's' concerns that reporting is pointless and trolls always get away with it. What I have in mind would be something along the lines of; The first time you log in each month, you get a notification like the Service Status notifications saying "At least one Report you recently initiated contributed to the disciplinary action of one or more players. That is possibly the best way to put it. something like that would help so much.

I don't see the need for a toxic player to keep their privacy/anonymity. I feel like they give up that right. I often report toxic players as they come and it leaves me wondering if any penalties ever happen to them, if it's really worth my time reporting and explaining or if I should just jump to the next game and hope for the better. Without some kind of notification, I don't feel like I'm contributing to anything worthwhile. We get notified when someone honors us, why not when a punishment has been inflicted to the offender or when a report has been read by Riot/Tribunal?

Sorry, but people have legal rights to privacy whether they annoy you or not. This is something decided and agreed upon by all modern cultures.

That is an incredibly dumb statement just based on the sociology alone.

So you're telling me that people in general agree that you should have your right to privacy taken away if you are rude? Please tell me which modern culture does this. I'll be waiting.

You do realize a large number of modern societies don't have sort of idea of privacy like you find in typical Western societies. Seriously, read a damn book.

First off, you don't need to quote every time. Secondly, you never named any, which might infer that you are making a general guess and is not helpful in the slightest. Do you also really feel you need to curse and insult in a manner befitting a young teenager with no manners? My question you refuse to answer still stands, if you can reply without being an ass.

Japanese, Korean, Armenian to name there easily. Also I can't help but notice you're statements are getting dumber. Next time learn the different between saying a statement is stupid and a person is because your reading comprehension is awful and like I said before kiddo. Read a damn book.

So you claim they take away privacy rights of rude people. You're going to have to cite your source. And seriously, please stop acting like a child.

Is a notification of someone's summoner name a privacy concern? It's not like a real name ID. I don't know the ID of anyone on here including you, yet a notification is all I ask and you blow it out of proportion.

Deep Terror Nami1 votes

How did I blow it out of proportion when these are the current rules of user privacy legal rights?

Is there a right to harass and offend?

Deep Terror Nami1 votes

Don't ask stupid questions. We both know Riot retains the right to suspend accounts without notice for any reason. Users agree to this when they create their account and each time a new agreement is made (always updated with patches). People in real life (in free countries) are protected by law and do indeed have certain rights to do this, but again, Riot owns all content within the game and has their own regulations of use (called EULA and ToS). If you can not distinguish the differences between a business's legal ability to restrict users, and laws protecting people from those restrictions outside the business's influence, I am sorry and you need to learn what the real world is all about.

I see why you would like to keep that right.

I can't understand how you can be so ignorant. Are you really so eager to takes others' rights away simply because they might offend you? You are a disgusting specimen of a human being that has clearly never even considered what it would be like to have your freedom of expression taken away.

I've had eight straight losses with Azir with nothing but trolls and mass feeders. Getting some sort of anonymous notification that some of these assholes are getting punishments would be nice.

I agree with this 100% can Riot please make this ASAP. I lose ranked matches cause of feeder and trolls. To be honest that is one of the reasons why I am starting not to play as much as i used to.

i've had games where I just play bad. Lets be fair with this. Before we get this into effect, can't we do something about lag issues. Like the sever being able to know if you lag out of game. Make it until you come back, you character is now on Ai and will still be able to help the team until you return.

sad to say riot only cares about ranked

When I started playing League around the start of season 3, I would have been against the idea. I don't know what changed since then but since around the midway point of season 4 I've noticed a massive uptick in trolls in game. Given how long these so called automated chat restrictions have been going on. I suspect the program is a failure.

If they only did this when you were above some reasonable threshold of reports filed in a month I'd be okay with that. If you only filed one report in the last month, telling you "hey, we punished someone you reported in the last month" might as well be telling you who got punished.
