Used to main this guy for a while back in season 3 (or 4). I still pick him to counter champions like
. Here goes:
Optimal burst combo: W - E - auto+Q - R, run ahead of them, using the movespeed to gain distance and prepare for a panic flash, then exit stealth with an auto and W again. Tiamat during the burst if you have it. Ignite if you must.
E first if you are too far. If you're low or can be hit by CC, save your auto-Q-Tiamat to exit stealth, as that minimizes the time you're vulnerable.
Max R>W>Q>E, use W sparingly and you won't run into mana issues. Do not harass with it until level 4 unless getting a gank. It uses too much mana to be damage-efficient. Optimally, use it to hit the enemy midlaner and farm a couple caster minions early game.
Runes: Usual AD. Masteries: I like 12-18-0 with Thunderlord's (duh).
Start
and build it into
first thing, then get
.
If fed, rush
. Otherwise, get
and then
. The goal of this is to W + Tiamat to farm the minions fast, then use mobis to roam bot/top/kill the jungler at wolves.
Your strategy is to waveclear and roam. Get kills off of other lanes. Consider
and/or
. Just make sure you are well-farmed and well-pushed in the early-midgame. You should have
by midgame.
After that, pretty much anything (that isn't stupid) goes.
are all generally good.
are all nice situational items. Talon has a nice flexible build. Armor pen and AD both do nice work.
Finishing
is gold-inefficient in terms of AD, only finish it if you want the sustain without consuming mana, otherwise don't finish until later.
Late-game burst: From outside the enemy screen, activate Youmuu's THEN ult, and charge in with mobis at a lone squishy, E to them and faceroll. Works if not starved (you only get one hit of your ult in this way, and Youmuu's active is nearly dead). If done from the right distance (ult blades too far to be seen, but you're close enough to reach an enemy), you can literally be better than Rengar at unexpected assassinations. You will pop literally out of nowhere and delete them.
Late-game burst costs around 250 mana, account for that before you fight. If you have a
, try to hit the entire team with your ult, and after you burst the enemy squishy(ies) and ensure your safety, run back in and help shred the enemy tanks. You can slow them, damage them, and shred them for your ADC.
You can E onto enemy minions to W a pussy enemy midlaner and chase or to escape a gank. Keep an eye for that.
Have fun with Talon :D
Thank you so much!!! [slayer-jinx-wink]

Max Q first, get Trinity Force for Sheen procs, and crit hybrid is best. Go Hydra first, then sheen, essence reaver, trinity force, IE, GB, and pick up CDR boots early, swapping them later for merc treads or anther situational once you have enough CDR.
And while I know I'm not that great at Talon, my knowledge comes a friend who mains Talon, and does so with efficancy
W max is generally acknowledged to be better simply because it gives you poke in lane and decent waveclear. Youmou's is a great rush, usually you want to sit on Tiamat for a bit because Ravenous isn't really worth finishing until later.
The wave clear from not maxing W is made up with Hydra, and Q does more damage when you are trying to kill someone (hence the sheen. A spellblade-crit-Q will do a TON of damage)
It's hard to all-in someone early on because you simply won't have enough damage. W helps a lot, because you can wear down your opponent to around 3/5 health before going in and collecting a kill.
is what you want to buy on your first back.
