this seasons provisionals
Provisional are stupid, that seems to be the common thought amongst everyone that finishes them in the after game chat. this season riot decided to make there provisional more dependent on how players were last season and less on there(and there teams)performance in the first ten games that you have to play before you start your climb. I do understand why they tried to change it and i hope they change it again next season because last season when i had only been playing for a couple months i got carried by my team and got placed in silver 3 and then upon continuing to play i quickly fell to bronze 5 where i probably belonged, but this season even though i only won half of my games i got placed in bronze 4 which i believe is where i finished last season and then in the preseason i climbed my way out of bronze(which didn't matter because i could duo with my friends who finished in gold like i had hoped to), which i will have to do again and expected to do again. i just feel that if your going to make the new season so dependent on where you were last season(seems like 80%) and not on how you actually play now and rewarding you for your improvements, then why bother resetting the season. Yeah the lucky/unlucky match making that some people have may put them higher and lower then they deserve to be but those lower then they deserve to be can easily climb up and those higher then they should be will quickly fall/ or they will learn to play better and deserve to be there. looking at my last 10 games, none of them are amazing and make me think that i should have been gold or anything crazy, but i was consistent i helped the team with the exception of 2 games my average KDA is 2 or higher per match, over the 10 matches going 113/68/125 making my average KDA 3.5 and getting bronze 4 makes me feel that i could have gone 0/400/0 and still gotten the same thing because its where i ended last season. there are a lot of people in bronze that belong there and there are also a lot of people that don't, and those that don't belong there unless they get some good matchmaking it takes a long time to climb out of it because you get so many more people that don't have the knowledge of the game or the right thought process like hey we just got 2 kills instead of chasing there team around the map and pushing for kills lets get an objective, but in bronze more often then not you get games were there are 50-80 kills because no one pushes for objectives after about 25 mins unless your team gets an ace or the enemy team is nowhere to be seen. i just feel the matchmaking system would be better off looking at personal stats per game and objectives that you were a part of rather then the overall result and where you were last season.I just wanted to put my opinion out there and i hope that riot looks at the way provisional were this season and continues to improve upon placements next season like they have done for everything in the game patch after patch. Gameplay and balance might not be the right place for this but i feel like its the best place for it.
