How Ranked is calculated for low MMR

If you were recently ranked this season and got a much lower rank than expected, you are not alone. I have figured out the equation RIOT uses to give you a rank after promos. (Applies for most players but more frequently for low MMR)

Silver II last season: Wins: 7 Lose: 3
7-3= Bronze IV

Gold V last season: (this is a little more tricky) Wins: 10 Lose: 0
10-0 1Ø-Ø =Bronze I

As surprising as it may be, with evidence, this is actually how my friend and I were ranked this season :D

i believe your theory is incorrect... i was silver 3 at the end of last season when ranked quit taking weight on this current season and i won 6 lost 4 and got bronze 2
