can someone check my Last Whisper math?

I am HORRIBLE at math (didn’t go past Algebra 2 in high school) but I’ve been trying to understand some things about last whisper anyways. THIS IS NOT A QQ THREAD I just want somebody to check my math so I can try to understand the way the item works, that’s all.

For all of this I just took what I thought was a reasonable amount of health for a level 18 marksman that wouldn’t build armor (1890), and what I thought was a reasonable amount of health that someone who would have 300 armor would end up with(3k). These numbers aren’t supposed to be exact, they’re just ballpark representations.

Armor-Physical damage reduction: 85 = 46% 55 = 36% 300 = 75% 195 = 66%

500 Damage Attack

                                              Pre LW - Post LW

85 Armor Damage taken: 270 - 320

300 Armor Damage taken: 125 - 170

                                                Pre LW - Post LW

  85 Armor (1890 HP): 7 Autos - 6 Autos

300 Armor (3000 HP): 24 Autos - 18 Autos

1500 Damage Attack
Pre LW - Post LW

 85 Armor Damage taken: 810 - 1000

300 Armor Damage taken: 375 - 510

                                                Pre LW - Post LW

  85 Armor (1890 HP): 3 Autos - 2 Autos

300 Armor (3000 HP): 8 Autos - 6 Autos

So correct me if I’m wrong, AND IT’S VERY LIKELY I AM, but wouldn’t this mean that the more of someone’s health pool you deplete per attack the more effective Last Whisper becomes at shortening the time it takes to kill that target making it more effective vs low hp targets who have purchased little to no armor? As far as I can tell 6 autos down from 7 is about a 15% decrease in time to kill and 2 autos down from 3 is a 33% decrease in time to kill (that’s more than the 300 armor 3K HP target that holds steady at 25% decrease in time to kill for both attacks. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this and PLEASE don’t BM me, I really am truly abysmal at math and I know it. Please don’t rub it in -_-

armor pen is ridiculously overpowered. Yes.

The math is fine, the reasoning is somewhat flawed.

A squishy that dies in less than a second will not be able to do anything. A tank only needs to live long enough to do his job. Four seconds is more than enough to disrupt key targets and potentially win the fight for your team.

tl;dr: A tank's job is not to soak damage, it's to use their tankiness to do their job as best as they can before their potentially inevitable demise.

counting armor reduction is a bad/hard way to go actually, do it in a simpler way.

1 effective armor = +1% ehp

so if lets say sejuani has 2215 hp and 80 armor that means she has 2215+1772=3987 EHP

now lets add item 3110

2215hp/180armor = 2215+3987=6202 EHP

now lets add item 3143

2715hp/150armor = 2715+4072=6787 ehp

now both item 3143 item 3110

2715hp/250armor = 2715 + 6787=9502 EHP

so lets say you have item 3035 and pen masteries, that means you penetrate 38% armor

2715hp/ 250 - 95= 155 armor = 2715+4208=6923 ehp

soo ehp/damage = number of attacks to kill

Crit is a big factor in this that was completely left out. LW synergies with LE and PE, because the increased armor pen makes the Crits melt people super fast, tanks included.
