More ranked divisions/tiers for lower elo players
I was just wondering, i remember when there was only gold silver and bronze. SInce then the roster of divisions has grown to include diamond platinum challenger and master, as that gives a nice diversity to the top players. What about the 70-80% of players who are in bronze and silver? Do we not deserve more diversity? i understand this would add more leagues to climb to get to diamond or challenger(not that i will ever make it there lol)
Currently since season 2 i have been stuck in bronze 5, sometimes i can make it to bronze 1. it doesnt matter how many promotional matches i win, i get bronze 5 every season. Why even try to win the promos? I know im a better player now than i was when i was in season 2.
if we had more divisions beneath bronze, it could make it more time consuming for smurfs to bump thier buddies up divisions, it would give lower elo players more substance, as they would be able to actually move through some divisions and feel like they were actually getting better.
2 or three divisions beneath bronze would also move the "elo hell" that "doesnt exist" down a couple divisions.
why is there no "Griefer division" i understand there are penalties to going afk and leaving games, but they dont mean much to people who dont care anyways, or that can just make a smurft and be right back into bronze griefing. if you had a division you were placed into that was aside from any other division and didnt matter what your elo is, a division like low priority q, that you can only get out of by playing so many games without any incident before you get back to the division you were moved from.
Say a silver player and a gold player both afk for 3 matches in one week, they would be placed in this separate division until they played so many games without afk, and none of it would count towards anything except getting back to where they left off.
the disparity of skill level between one b5 player and another b5 player can be significant, right ive been playing for 5 years, and you have new people who have played one champion only and just hit level 30 playing and get b5.
This is the exact same reason you made higher division tiers, do lower elo players not deserve the same attention? Do lower elo players not deserve a better indication of where thier skills actually lie?
Honestly i have no care if i move up or down, as long as when i play ranked im moving. a couple more divisions would give that diversity without affecting the better players that you seem to focus on ie platinum and up.
If there were more divisions this could also remove the need to base the promos off of an ELO from last year. Everyone every season could ACTUALLY START FRESH instead of being haunted by every past mistake they ever made.
The day i turned level 30 in season 2 i started playing ranked, and i did really bad, so halfway through the season i quit and waited for the next season. But low and behold, i had botched my MMR and ELO so much, that even winning all 5 games the next season i got bronze 4 anyways. As it has been for every season ever since. Last season i believe i won 7/10 promo's i got bronze 4 lol. this season i win 5/10 i get b5. like..... How do you think that made me feel? i dont even want to rank anymore ever. and i know a lot of people that feel the same way. i win half my games and yet i am the lowest of the low.
How many players do you have that dont even rank at all because they know they will be in bronze and never move? if you had more divisions like i said, it would add more substance for the majority of your players, it could possibly get people playing ranked who would be scared to be "stuck" in a league.
Oh and another thing i find super ironic, is that my smurf is ranked gold 3, but i cant climb out of bronze on my main. How is that possible? Because there is no such thing as "elo hell" right?
If you look at the statistics, Bronze and Silver make up 70%-80% of the player base.... Why would you not want to add lower divisions to round those numbers out a bit? 2-3 divisions underneath bronze would make each division under gold only 10-20% of the player base, Meaning you would actually be in a league with people who are in your skill level.
I understand all the arguments that say well if your bronze and you want to be gold it shouldnt be that hard, maybe for you, but everyone isnt the same.... that is why there is a ranking system in the first place. By giving more tiers to lower level players you end up having more consistent games. IE you are playing with people who make the same mistakes you make, all the time. It gives you perspective, you learn what areas you need to work on to move to the next tier. As it is bronze has so many people with so many different problems it can be hard to figure out where to start. Especially for new players.
