One For All Problem

How are we supposed to earn mastery points and key fragments if the team chooses a champion that I don't even own? Honestly I don't really care about mastery points or mastery chests but the thing I do care about the most is key fragments. Being forced to play a champion I don't even own and being punished for it in the end and not earning my key fragments I could of earned if I was playing a champion I did own. I really love to play One For All and would love to play it while earning key fragments.
