Is that Veigar buff a joke?

3/3 PBE Update

EDIT: This post is now outdated. I gladly eat my words, and am grateful for the changes to E

Veigar: Baleful Strike (Q ) [missile speed increased to 2.2k from 1.7k]

Seriously? I recall a red rioter posting a list of tentative buffs, all of which sounded amazing. So why are we getting this buff that solves absolutely nothing?

I'd imagine that that baleful strike buff is probably in addition to whatever they decide to do to his E (I think meddler just talked about E buffs again on reddit yesterday, so its probably still happening)

I think its a neat buff on its own, certainly makes Q a bit more reliable at last hitting.

Edit: Correct me if I'm wrong but don't we have 3 days still until the end of this PBE cycle? Plenty of time for things to happen.

It's the first change, and it isn't even the mid-week. Just wait.

Another thread that OP lies to us. Here are the other changes listed that OP "forgot" to mention.

Event Horizon (E) [now stops dashes early (such as Graves E, does NOT include blink/flash) that try to go through the wall vs letting them complete then stunning] Event Horizon (E) the warning particle/delay now begins at the start of Veigar's E cast time (.25 seconds) rather than at the end.

What that means is that Veigars stun now has .25 second less delay and you can't dash through it once he has started casting it

Just so that people aren't misinformed, it is probably only once the stun lands that you can't dash through it. Still a big thing, though.

Incorrect. The cage now has a 0.75 second delay instead of a 1.00 because of cast times. And the stopping dashes only happens when the stunn is already up. They can still dash out of it during the delay, it just means you cant dash through the stun finish the dash and then get stunned.

I said it has .25 second less delay which is 100% accurate

and you at least .4 seconds less time to react to its placement since it happens at the same time as the cast time.

That wasnt the part you were incorrect, but i can see how what i said could be confusing. For that i apologise, however you were still wrong about dashes being stopped at the start of casting.

Hey, at least its an actual buff.

Lets wait for to see what else happens. The update isn't even finished on S@20.

That said... I feel like Riot owes me a refund for this Veigar "rework but we won't say it's a rework".

Edit: Nope, it wasn't all.

WOW THAT LOOKS SO USEFUL...

Oh wait, he still can't land the cage against an enemy with eyes and fingers.

If you read between the lines it's riot showing favouritism to zed yet again, since it only prevents dashes.

Not to mention the part where they can just dash BEFORE the cage forms making it largely irrelevant anyway.

Oh. My. God.

This "I hate Zed/whatever" thing is getting ridiculous. Holy shit. The lengths some of you will go to in order to somehow loop every single problem back around to Zed/Lee/(insert champ here) are getting absurd.

Let me tell you something. There is not a single wall or cage type skill that affects blinks in the game.

Not one.

Not baron walls, not red buff walls, not dragon walls, not blue buff walls, not Anivia wall, not Jarvan wall, not Azir wall, not Veigars old cage, not Veigars new cage, not Thresh's box, nothing.

Champions with blinks do not touch the edges of the cage when they blink through it, ever. This was true even BEFORE his rework.

Those two problems have nothing do with eachother, at all.

I wasn't suggesting the cage should prevent Zed from blinking. I was suggesting that removing the near-instant stun capacity and then giving us this as "compensation" is spitting in our faces considering the absurd popularity of Zed and Katarina.

I can't remember the last game I played without one of Zed, Kat, Leblanc, Liss, Ahri, Talon. I basically never see other champions anymore unless I am the one to play them.

What were the other buffs Riot mentioned?

He is gonna be so op now!

Said no one ever

You gotta wait. The whole patch isn't out yet. There's minor stun buffs that you didn't post because you looked into it early and concluded that was all.

biggest buff i've seen so far

And...changes to his E were added.

See what happens when you don't wait until all the PBE changes go through?

Ovion2 votes

Ok , that buff is a start... Now they need to either do something with his E to actually make it powerful or buff all the other abilities (you just can't delete a champion core ability and item and then act like a small buff can fix it)

W sucks dick

better buff Q

still pretty shit overall. Until they give him a completely new W he's either going to be shit or have insanely OP numbers on the other 3 skills, because W is basically nothing but wave clear now.

Alorasence1 votes

You underestimate how significant a buff like this will be.

With a Q missile speed that fast, he will almost never miss.

FFS Veigar is fine. I like the changes Riot made much better than his original play style.
