Mundo's Passive

Shadow00m··9 votes·1,380 views

I have a topic that has been going along between my friends and myself for some time now, and I want to hear more from other peoples opinions.. Mundo's Passive. Mundo passive compared to most is really weak. For a overveiw at Mundo's passive, im going to compare it to garens passive, who has the most simmilar passive. At all Levels Mundo gets Garens starting regen -.1% (Mundo .3% per sec, vs Garen .4% per second) Mundo then proceeds to maintain that passive through all levels, and does not scale up on level up, whereas, garens goes up to .8% at lvl 11, and 2%/s at lvl 16. That ammount compared to Mundo's .3% all game is why i mention Mundo's passive. Granted mundo does have a nice ult that really helps, but the passive iteself doesnt really help much. Out of my group of friends, we have discussed the idea of just flat out reworking it to something else. Please share comment and give your opinions for what you think should happen to Mundo's passive, to have it have more of an effect on the game.

My Idea is to base Mundo's passive more like Veigar's passive. Have it increase as his health drops, and decrease as it get higher up.

One has a massive heal while in combat the other doesn't. Can we stop comparing apples and oranges?

Why not, both are fruit, you can make juice out of both, and you can eat them both at any part of the day (although they're both better at breakfast.)

Never understood that analogy. The only noticeable difference between the two is that eating one makes you k. Gangplank

Mundo's passive is totally overshadowed by the eye-popping regen of his ult. I would like to see his passive reworked so that instead of providing sustain based solely off his maximum health, he received sustain that was intertwined with his abilities. For example:

Current Passive: Adrenaline Rush-Dr. Mundo regenerates 0.3% of his maximum health each second.

New Passive: Adrenaline Rush-Upon dealing damage with an ability, Dr. Mundo receives 10%/15%/20% additional healing from all sources for 3 seconds (scaling at levels 1/11/16).

With these changes, Mundo's passive synergizes nicely with his Q, W, and R while not being overshadowed (read: made useless in comparison) by his ult in the late game. However, I would expect the amount of healing Mundo receives from his ult would need to be reduced by an average of 10% overall to prevent him from breaking the game.

Just to point out; Mundo and Garen have basically the same passive, but Garen's passive has higher regen because it features an off switch (damage). While his got updated to scale some, Mundo has not had his passive similarly reworked, hence the discrepancy.

With that out of the way, I wouldn't mind Mundo having a passive where bonus health gave him additional tenacity, up to a fixed point (15%? 20%?). It fits the character (Mundo will go where he pleases).

I am aware of Mundos not turning off in combat, but even so, its regen is so little that it doesnt make much change or effect to the battle. IMO of course. Just want to see what other great ideas people can come up with, to make it affect a battle more, wile still remaining the effect of a passive.

Let's be clear on it : Mundo's passive is underpowered.

It either needs a buff or a rework.

That's why i posted this. Is needs one of the two. What do you think Riot should do? Just buff it, or do a rework? If a rework, what would be your idea?

If his passive were to be buffed, I would buff it to 0.5%, 0.6% at 6, 0.7% at 11 and 0.8% at 16.

I don't have lot of ideas about a rework on his passive honestly

Adrenaline Rush :

While fighting you gain HP regeneration of 0.3%, 0.4% at 6, 0.5% at 11 and 0.6% at level 16 per second. Upon reaching 20% of your maximum HP, Dr. Mundo's spells cost no life.

Furthermore, its regeneration is decupled, reaching 3%, 4% at 6, 5% at 11 and 6% at level 16 per second over 5 seconds. 240 seconds cooldown.

My suggestion was to give mundo a constant amount (0.3%/second or maybe even more) in addition to one of the following:

As Mundo moves Faster he gains a percentage of his Max Health as Health regeneration per second equal to his speed multiplied by .005 (I.E. 480 movement speed and is moving means 2.4% max health regeneration per second) or.... Mundo gains a percentage of his Max HP instantly (prolly something like 0.5%-3% based on level) upon traveling 1000 units

i like the first one a lot more, if you are fighting or not moving you gain no bonus, not only that it supports the "mundo goes where he pleases" mentality, it would also stop briefly on cleaver casts overall lowering the amount. not only that it has counter play in the form of cc mundo deals with already, slows will decrease the value and snares and stuns will stop it completely, this goes hand in hand with the free tenacity he already gets and the items he already likes.

His passive is pretty underwhelming atm but you'd have to nerf Mundo if you wanted to buff the passive since Mundo is in a pretty strong spot now.

Mundo actually doesn't trade off regen for his passive though. Both him and Garen have mid-tier passive regeneration, and pretty damn good regen scaling per level. Really , the only difference between the two is that Garen's is more powerful, but also gets turned off in combat.

Honestly, they both are about as powerful, just in different situations, but Garen's is much more noticable because of the power it has, and that its turned off in combat. Hence why people don't see a problem with Garen's, but they do with Mundo, despite Mundo's actually scaling better with his build (Garen's passive is good on its own).

Mundo's passive is hidden power, hence why it feels like shit. It's actaully not horrible, just feels like an afterthought. At level one with his passive he heals 2 HP per second. Not per five, per second. There's only one champ off the top of my head that heals more than Mundo at level one, and that's the Donger, off all champs. If Mundo's passive didn't scale with items, the Donger would have the highest HP5 in the game.

Teal Deer; Mundo's passive isn't bad, it just feels really boring.

New Mundo passive

Adrenaline rush- Mundo heals for .3% of his maximum hp per second, scaling up by .1% per hp 10% missing, and while under 50% hp he also gains 0/10/15/20% (lvl 1/6/11/16) damage reduction for 1 second after using an ability (he can keep this up with W as it is a constant ability but it drains his hp still)
