You should be able to do the recruit mission even if your first recruit ditches (Explanation inside)

My first recruit decided he didn't want to do it, so I got another recruit, did the whole thing, easy peasy. However, it did not count at ALL for my recruiting missions score, so unless this is a bug, it would be great if this could be fixed so you could do it with ANYONE you have recruited. Thanks.
