Why is it possible to go zero farm with klepto and still get enough glold and exp?

If you don't farm at all, Kleptomancy isn't going to give you anything remotely close to the amount of gold/xp you need to stay relevant.
its not unless your going spell thiefs into a lane you can poke a lot but even then they can shove you in hard if you arent farming
First of all, your creep score has nothing to do with your exp. You only need to be within range of minions as they die in order to gain exp.
Others have already mentioned HOW you can gain a reasonable amount of gold by combining a support item and Klepto.
As for your question of "why is it possible...?"
Why not?
It isn't the most efficient strategy. They would still be better off farming as many minions as possible.
Now, is it possible for someone to use this strategy AND farm minions in order to gain a significant gold advantage. ... or rather, SHOULD it be possible? .. that is debatable.
I think the more relevant question to ask here is, how can it be prevented without hurting supports?
