Reasons to Rework Skarner
I play skarner occasionally and think he needs a change.
- Passive: Crystal Spires
I dislike it, the spires barely actually effect the game apart from the the early clears when playing Jg.
- Q: Crystal slash
It's a good-ish ability but the damage is incredibly low and doesn't really have much effect aside from procing Sheen effects.
Just to make a point,
Skarner's q has no Base damage and only a 45% ad ratio at max rank When not empowered, while
Darius on the other hand has 56 base damage a 49% ad ratio and that's when you Miss with the outer circle, which from what I've heard isn't even that hard, The empowered version of
Skarner's Q doubles it's Ad ratio (90%) and adds a 30% ap scaling While
Darius's Q Has a 160 base damage and a 140% ad ratio, adds a hemorrhage stack and it Heals YOU for up to 12% of your Missing health Per enemy Hit.
- W: Crystalline exoskeleton
His W is good with a 14% health ratio (all of these numbers are gonna be at max rank Btw) and much like his Empowered Q has a ap ratio although unfortunately it's his only form of engage and also much like his Q it doesn't have a base number, in this case a base shield meaning that in order to get a good shield you have to go either full tank or AP.
- E: Fracture
Fracture is an amazing ability although the ap scaling is low (20% AP ratio and a 140 base damage at max rank) and the bonus damage on his Enhanced auto attack doesn't have a scaling (65 at max rank), which just had to be the one thing to ONLY have a base damage because i think that making this an ad scaling would have Made a lot of sense and also helped with his damage numbers.
- R: Impale
This is basically the reason people play skarner, which is the reason they reworked Sejuani, because her Ultimate was the only reason she was used, Impale has a 60% ad ratio, a 50% ap ratio resulting as a 120% ad ratio and a 100% ap ratio for their respective damage types, Unfortunately the ability to pull people into your team is so overused and it might as well not have any damage because your basically just holding them in place, so the rest of the team can attack them, this makes it different from similar ultimates like Malzahar and Warwick's which can be used without having your entire team behind you and still actually get a kill.
Overall i think that skarner should be changed To be able to handle a bit more just by himself, to deal a bit more damage, So in general i just want to make him less of a support jungler and more of the juggernauts he was updated with. Tell me what i'm missing in the comments.
