Went 8-2 in placements and got silver V. Working as intended?

Title explains it. Is it just that I wasn't matched against high MMR opponents, although I was playing against ranked golds? And if so, that feels oddly arbitrary. I had high KDA etc, so I guess I'm not sure how the placements work. I'm obviously thrilled I'm not bronze, but man. I'm assuming I'm missing something.

Anyway, I'm just whining a little bit. Carry on.

You keep your MMR from the last season, and your placement is based on your MMR minus the soft reset (it's like 1 division's worth of MMR) plus/minus any MMR you gain/lose from your placement matches.

Here is an approximation of where your MMR has been, taken from lolking.com;

As you can see you had Bronze MMR but brought it up high enough with your placement matches to stay in Silver. If you want to definitely be placed in Silver (or higher!) next season, try to get your MMR up this season by winning matches against higher MMR opponents (getting promoted will generally be a direct result anyway).

Allegedly, the order in which you win and lose them matters. Win eight, then lose two, you'd probably place higher. Win 1, lose 1, win 3, lose 1, win 4, probably lower.

It has more to do with your MMR after your last match than how many you won or lost.

Ah, I guess that makes sense. Was 2-2 then won 6. Back to the grind. Thanks.
