What is it about league players?

out of all the different games ive played ive never experienced as much cumulative anger and aggresive trolling as I have while playing league. Im only level 10 so i probably havent even seen the worst of it, but still its enough for me to be taken aback and say "seriously wtf is wrong with this community"?

ofc im not speaking for everyone, ive encountered some very friendly and helpful players and they know who they are.

but i swear 5 games out of 10 theres at least one person mouthing off and going crazy on someone in all chat over something stupid, or intentionally ruining the game for everyone by feeding or screwing up peoples picks or whatever other misery their spiteful minds can come up with. and in any case, the games that are free of the turbotrolls are at least afflicted by venomous angertypers making snide remarks at everyone.

i loved dota back on wc3 so this type of game is awesome to me and i definitely have had fun playing, but man the players sometimes just make it SOOO unenjoyable.

I really dont like having to mute people, i just wish i could get all 5 players to communicate and work together to win more games rather than the games having a 40-50% change of turning into a shitstorm 15 minutes in... :/

Trust me it will get much better as you progress, when you are at lower levels in LOL there are a few types of people that are much more prevalent there. 1) inherently toxic people, people who are just toxic/mean these are other new players who haven't learned what's ok or not and have not been punished/reformed by Riot. With time more and more of these kinds of people will calm down, reform, or be banned. 2) People making a new account after being banned, pretty obviously they were most likely banned for being toxic or trolling and didn't reform, so they got banned. With their new account most likely they will still be toxic/troll, but to make it even worse they will actually be good at the game compared to others they face, this will give them more chances to flame and a sense of power, with time they will get banned again or something like that. 3) smurfs, these can be people who want a second account just for the sack of having one, they may or may not be toxic on their mains, but their smurfs can be hit or miss. Because it isn't as important as their main they may tend to flame/troll more often cause it just isn't very important to them.

Is it because im playing in low level games? do people get a little more serious at max level or at higher rankings? or is this cancer pretty much consistent throughout all levels of play

Its a very team reliant game that you are forced to play, even if your team is bad or are getting stomped. Its not like other games where you can just leave, in League you will have completely wasted at least half an hour of time. And winning is very important in relation to the amount of XP/IP you get before level 30, and its the only factor that counts in ranked. It can create a pretty frustrating experience.

I've never really had many bad experiences in LOL, despite all the horror stories. 90% of the time no one talks :O

I don't think league is as popular to new people as it as before and many new accounts actually belong to current players who were banned or punished. They got into problems because they're pissy people and they bring their salt into leveling games when they realize they can't even win against level 5 players

If you are new to MOBA,tilt is something you will hate to encounter. So whenever you match with/against a toxic/salty summoner, mute them.Trust me,out of 1300+ games I played,ONLY 10% of summoners said anything useful in the chat even in ranked games to win the game (such as,no flash,tp,heal, etc,or anything else useful that helps the team). If you mute someone you can still see their ping,so I wouldn't see any point in not muting someone toxic in your team.
