Just played against Garen with only Black Cleaver and this piece of shit was literally unkillable doing shit tons of damage. 4 members on my team couldnt kill a Garen that builded 0 resistances, he only got it from a braindead passive. Good shit, very fun champion.
Did you guys try autoattacking or using abilities on him?
You used your slows before he used his Q, tried to burst him during his W, and stood next to him during his E.
A: Your team was awful
B: Garen. His entire point is being hard to kill if you let him disengage. He has to be focused down.

probably because you played incredibly poorly, and in reality there probably were more of garens teammates involved and it wasnt a 1v3 like you make it look.
if it really was, then props to the garen.
better question is why he can kill you with one item while being a great damage soak
