The rate for key drops needs to be increased, i have won 5 games in a row with a partner and have not gotten a single key fragment. I now have 3 chests that i can not open, because i still only have 2 key fragments. Either the drop rate for them needs to increase or you should make it so you can buy whole keys for ip and chest for rp. would keep it at the 52 chest a year unless you want more but you wont be spending a month trying to get a key fragment for your 25 other chests.
Well if you get key fragment almost every game then riot will literally give skins away for free.
I also agree that the drop rate is too low. It seems easier to get chests then it does to get the keys which is kinda backwards. My idea of a decent fix would just to be that getting a S in a game with a champ that you have already earned a chest on has an increased key fragment drop. This would give some incentive for earning S's on champs you have already earned a chest on.
It will be a lot easier to get the keys once they fix the bug where they're not dropping in ARAMs or TT games. Also, don't think of it as something you want to grind, but a nice reward you get every now and then for playing. When you stop trying to grind them and start thinking of them as just "random loot I get for free very rarely" then it becomes more of a pleasant surprise to get one and less of a disappointment to not get one.
Also, there's no way RIOT is going to increase the drops, they introduced the system as a way to get people to spend MORE money in the store, not less. If you're frustrated by the drop rate that just means your more likely to buy them in store, which is what they want anyway.
well i am sitting on 3 chest and no key fragments so if the drop rate incresed just a bit then i might not be waiting on keys to open the chest
I think he's right. It sucks when you have 3 or more chests and only 2 key fragments. I think the idea of being able to buy whole keys for ip, and the chests for rp. If they do that, then you'll be spending more ip in the store to get keys. The chests and packs keep rp.
