New game mode of the week concept - Season 3 returns

Hey! I've been discussing this idea of old patches returning in place of a random game mode of the weekend with many people, and everyone I've talked to in greatly in support of it! The idea is really simple, but what could be more wonderful than replaying old-school League of Legends. Simply put, what if the season 3 worlds patch could return as a playable option for a weekend? Many players agree that season 3 was a highlight of League's history, and what better way could we honor that time then to allow players to relive those moments. I was just curious to see if any players on the forums were in support of this idea due to the overwhelming, positive responses I've received so far.

It would be a great idea but they would have to disable kassadin for this. Trust me s3 kassadin still haunts me in my nightmares.

Multiple reasons it can't really work.

File size. For a 2 week (Maybe 4 week) rotational game mode, having it take practically an entire fresh install of League to run just that game mode would massively cut into downloads and such. It would be a many hour patch for very short term benefits at best, that will probably result in more hours patching for all the playerbase than actually playing the specific game mode considering how many people just flat out avoid RGMs.
The update would have to revert reworks/disable tons of champs for those game modes. Not easy.
Many of us don't consider S3 a golden time. Plenty of us have bad memories of it (Good lord that pre-season, where literally having all 5 members of the team stack 6x cleavers was a viable option...). It was just a revolving door of balance issues from League of Cleavers, to League of Warmogs, to League of BorK.

If anything should happen, I think we should have a revert to the old arpen system just as a systematic test for comparison to how current and old arpen/mpen impacted the game.

Trust me, League of Bork means 6-8 different champions built Bork that game. We currently have a fairly powerful Bork, and it is defining the ADC meta fairly heavily atm, but we are in no way in a League of Bork.

I loved season 3. But Taliyah wasn't out in season 3 so I'd pass on this one.

It'd be too hard to do and way too time consuming. Not too mention a lot of people will want another season rather than 3.

do you realize how much work that would be? not to mention they don't even have that old data on hand on Riot's computers period? please stop living in the past and move on.
