I often wonder what the game would be like if Riot never made the mistake of Keystones

I miss the old Rune and Mastery system, you were able to actually customize back then and play the way you felt like but now it's all just cookie-cutter BS with no room to even think of imagining fresh playstyles.

Champions are forced into and "balanced" solely around whatever Keystone is meta on them leaving no room for any sort of variety, it's literally just "Play this or be a liability." And that fucking sucks.

Lets not forget the fact that Keystones added in a massive amount of upfront burst damage that didnt exist before.

Old system definitely cookie cutter people argue that there had like 10 pages for one champ ... Ok but only one of those pages was actually competitively viable with resistances swapped depending on lane matchup.

Least it's not as bad as wows talent tree system, that was a big mistake.

There is still some choice in what secondary runes we use.

But i agree i miss being able to adjust the stats but we can sort of get the same result with runes today.

I can not take another year of absolute frustration. It is sad, but I guess I will turn my back on this game after six years and spend my free time meaningfully again.

I really do not get how Riot does not see they could slow down the decline of their game massively by just reverting the rune system and champion base stats. It seems like the Chinese internet café scene is too important, so they force twenty minute one-shot fiestas down our throat.

I just want my favorite game back, but I guess that does not happen.
