The community is turning in circles non-stop (x-post from GD)
"Games are too long!" Well now that they're shorter, look what you're saying.
"Ability costs are too high!" Mana regen items have been nerfed, then buffed, overall mana regen on an entire class of champions was nerfed at one point, and items like Lost Chapter were eventually introduced.
"Adc's are too strong. Whoops, adc's are too weak now!" Yeah, this cycles been done multiple times now. Nothing new.
Name something people have said and I
tee that it's been addressed before, most likely nerfed/buffed with those changes eventually being reverted or compensated for in some way.
The current issue with power creep is the only issue in which I can say that hasn't truly been addressed, and you know the entire source of power creep in-game currently? Actually the issue has been here since keystone masteries were introduced in 2016.
I'm not trying to sound like some nostalgic nutter who tells you that everything in the past was better, but trust me, if you gave us back old runes, and pre2k16 masteries, the game would instantly be a lot slower. Not completely due to the introduction of certain items(stormrazor for example) but compared to it's current state for sure.
The keystone masteries introduced in 2016 were the turning point. Their effects which went beyond raw stats were what pushed many champions over the edge. This has actually continued into the current rune system as well, and you can even see similarities in the usage trends of both of them. Remember in the past when certain keystone masteries were so strong that every champion would run them, for example thunderlords until it was nerfed? Now look at the situation we had with dark harvest just recently. Sound a bit familiar?
That's all I really have to say. I'm not going to go all out on a discussion that very few people are likely to show interest in.
Not sure if cross posts are allowed on the forums, but I really feel like this would be much better suited to the gameplay forums than in GD.
